Grade Analysis
In order to identify areas of weakness academically, I have compiled the mean averages of my grades so far throughout year one and year two, and separated them by type of work: exam, written assignment, and group presentations.
While I know I am doing well academically, these results clearly show that my grades for group work, which takes the form of a presentation, are considerably lower than the grades I achieve in individual pieces of written work and exams.
There are two possible explanations for this, and I believe both of them play a part in this discrepancy. Firstly, though the quality of my work is good, I let myself down in presentations through anxiety. I am also naturally someone who speaks very fast, and combined with my nerves, this drops my marks. Secondly, I am academically the highest achieving out of the group I work with for presentations, and as we are marked as a group, my grade dips to reflect theirs.
